This unit focused on the fundamental aims and objectives of teaching English. Students were introduced to the importance of language skills, the goals of developing communication, and the role of English in academic as well as real-life contexts.

Teaching Skills

This section emphasized the core teaching skills necessary for effective classroom practice. Trainees learned about questioning skills, reinforcement, stimulus variation, explanation, introduction, and conclusion skills.

Methods of Teaching

📅 20.01.2025 – 07.02.2025
Different methods of teaching English such as Grammar-Translation Method, Direct Method, Structural Approach, Communicative Approach, and Eclectic Method were explained in detail. The strengths and weaknesses of each method were discussed to help students adopt the best practices in teaching.

Approaches of Teaching

📅 11.02.2025 – 24.02.2025
Various approaches like the Structural Approach, Situational Approach, and Communicative Approach were taught. The focus was on making English teaching learner-centered and more interactive.

Instructional Media

📅 10.03.2025 – 21.03.2025
This unit highlighted the role of instructional aids such as blackboard, flashcards, charts, PowerPoint presentations, and audio-visual media in enhancing teaching effectiveness. Students were also trained to integrate modern digital tools in classroom practice.

Deepavali Celebration 🪔✨ Date: 29.10.2024 Chief Guest : Dr. C.Srimathy M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., D.D.M.O., NET., Assistant Professor in Tamil, Govindammal Aditanar College for Women, Tiruchendur. The Deepavali celebration was joyfully conducted on the 29th of October. The event commenced with the respectful rendition of Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu, setting a traditional and vibrant tone for the occasion. The celebration was formally inaugurated by Dr. C.
